Zhu Gaoxu did not fail in the "Gaoxu's Rebellion" in the first year of Xuande (1426). Instead, he lied in hiding through false surrender/forbearance, secretly accumulating strength (winning over border generals, controlling part of the capital camp, and contacting nobles who were dissatisfied with Zhu Zhanji/Zhu Qizhen).
