"The King of Agents: 23 Years of Spy Hidden" written by Wei Ping tells the story of Chen You, who was born into a large landowner family in Shaoshan, Hunan. Inspired by progressive youth from his hometown, he went to Peking University to learn about Marxism. After being introduced, he joined a communist group and later went to France and Soviet Russia for further study. In 1924, he returned to China by name and entered the Whampoa Military Academy as "Chen Mo" (codenamed "Jackdaw"). He gained the attention of Dai Li and started his underground career. Since 1926, he has been lurking in the secret intelligence group, Fuxing Society and the core of the military reunification, and engaged in espionage alongside his lover Su Qing (codenamed "Nightingale"), appearing as a "love rival". In Shanghai, he and Liu Yun (codenamed "Cousin") pretended to be a couple to help the labor movement, and almost died after the "April 12" coup; he tampered with Chiang Kai-shek's deployment to help the Red Army break out, passed intelligence during the Long March, and faked a marriage with Liu Yun to avoid surveillance; during the Anti-Japanese War, he transformed into a "traitor businessman" to spy on Japanese and puppet intelligence, and repeatedly escaped danger. Female agent Liu Mei (codenamed "Swallow") has true feelings for him, and Dai Li wants to coordinate surveillance. Chen Mo cleverly manages to deliver key information and turns Liu Mei into a comrade. He participated in the investigation of Dai Li's plane crash, exposed Mao Renfeng's conspiracy, and resisted the Soviet "shadow" agents; he helped Zhao Shan (codenamed "Adoptive Father", Liu Mei's biological father) escape from danger, designed him to fall into a "trap", betrayed his reputation as "unfilial", and lost his younger brother Chen Li. Before crossing the river in 1949, he heroically sacrificed his life by detonating explosives to cover Su Qing and Liu Mei's breakout with the Jiang defense map and lurking list. After liberation, Su Qing discovered his forged "rebellion" record. This belief was finally confirmed. Chen Mo received national praise and became the "King of Agents" on the secret front.
