A Little Plot of Land in the 1960s

Transmigrate? No, the story of Tian Xiaotian, a local heroine in the 1960s, is much more compelling! She looks like a soft, sweet dumpling, but inside she’s as sharp as black sesame filling. When the family runs short of food, she cleverly divides up the meat and renders it into oil, making the whole area smell delicious. When work points are unfair, she secretly keeps count and helps her aunties claim what they’re owed. When policies tighten, she plans ahead and keeps her little family well provided for.

From intercropping in the family’s plot to raising rabbits in the courtyard, from helping an aunt with a questionable family background who loves embroidery to becoming the whole village’s trusted “Teacher Tian” and barefoot doctor, Tian Xiaotian never fights for attention or takes more than her share. Instead, with her practical wisdom, she makes even the hardest days vibrant, and finds a love that blossoms naturally with the quiet young man who’s always reading.

See how a heroine armed with local wisdom protects the simple warmth of home and makes every step bloom amid turbulent times.
