I’m Wang Lang, self-proclaimed heir to the Grave Robbers’ Captain tradition. I livestream tomb raids with my cowardly partner, Little Pang, hoping to snag some views and scrape by.
Who knew that the moment we entered a tomb, I’d step on a thousand-year-old mechanism and nearly get turned into a pincushion? Little Pang cried for his mother, but I spotted long-lost Tanwen inscriptions carved into the bronze coffin.
I was about to use a black donkey’s hoof to suppress whatever was inside when the coffin split open by itself. It was empty.
Before I could react, Little Pang pointed at the livestream camera, his voice trembling like a leaf. “B-Boss, behind you...”
I turned around. Thirty thousand viewers were watching live, and on camera, a female ghost with a pale face, black eyes, and red lips was draped over my shoulder, smiling at me eerily.
The livestream chat exploded, and gifts flooded the screen.
I was completely numb, but professional instinct made me force out a smile even uglier than a grimace:
“F-Folks, hit that follow button! Tonight... tonight, Master Lang isn’t showing off antiques. I’m showing off a female ghost! Our first guest has a thousand years of cultivation and a knockout face, but... she’s a bit hard on the pants, Little Pang has already wet himself!”
I thought it was just a livestream mishap, but it turned out to be only the beginning. The empty coffin, the Tanwen inscriptions, the mysterious map pointing toward a way out... it all seemed connected to this “female ghost guest,” who was so curious about livestreaming.
And she seemed to be no more than the “opening act” in this haunted tomb...
