The novel is adapted from my own real experience of being defrauded, with a timeline from 1992 to 2025. It tells the story of the protagonist Chen Li, who had no choice but to engage in fraud: from guessing melon seeds and cheating on the streets in the 1990s, to using facades to set up fake miracle doctors and contract traps in the 2000s, and then after 2010, relying on financial management platforms and live broadcasts to sell fakes to make money on a large scale. At its peak, he took away 800,000 pension money from retired people. After 30 years of repeatedly evading police pursuit, he was finally arrested after his accomplices betrayed him. After seeing the tragic situation of the victims in prison, he woke up and wrote a fraud prevention manual. After being released from prison, he devoted the rest of his life to popularizing science and used his own history of fall to warn: "Don't be greedy for small profits, and there will be no pie in the world." The more you watch and the more you repost, the less likely you will be deceived.
