In 1992, during the midterm exam in the second semester of my sophomore year of high school, I looked at the bright red 18 points on the math paper. The head teacher on the podium was reading out the "list of poor students" with a sneer.
"Lin Ziqiang, you are a loser and go to the construction site to move bricks as soon as possible. Don't hold back the whole class!"
While the whole class was laughing, I silently tore up the registration form for the provincial mathematics competition hidden under the table - it was deliberately hidden by the class teacher from me.
That night, I knocked on the door of the principal's house: "Teacher, I want to report with real name that Teacher Wang embezzled class fees and secretly hid competition quotas..."
A week later, the head teacher was suspended for investigation, and I stood outside the examination room of the math competition and smiled at the new head teacher who came to stop me:
"Teacher, how can a person with a score of 18 in mathematics be embarrassed in a competition?"
