Chen Mo thought he had found a huge bargain and rented an old apartment in the city center at an outrageously low price.
On the first day he moved in, he found a yellowed note behind the door, with seven rules written in scarlet ink:
"1. After 11 o'clock every night, no matter what noise you hear, do not open the door.
2. If the outside of the cat's eye is blood red, hold your breath until it returns to its original state.
3. The crying in the corridor is a guide, and the laughter in the elevator is a trap.
4. Don't pick up anything dropped at the door.
5. Be sure to cut off all power supplies in the house between 3 a. M. And 3:15 a. M.
6. Your neighbors are not trustworthy, especially those wearing red.
7. If the rules start to contradict themselves, go to room 1408 immediately. "
Chen Mo sneered and threw the note into the trash can.
Until that night, there was a knock on the door at three o'clock in the morning.
Outside the peephole, the woman in the red dress slowly raised her head, her pupil-less eyes stared at him, and the corner of her mouth curled into an inhuman arc:
