A Cycle of Love

At thirty, Lu Yueyue returns to the county town where she first met her lover, Chen Chaonan, clutching his portrait. Her fingertips brush over an old desk carved with their names. When she opens her eyes again, she meets the gaze of seventeen-year-old Chen Chaonan. He is still alive, as vivid as she remembers.

To rewrite the ending in which her lover dies, she exhausts herself trying to change things. Yet no matter how hard she tries, her thirty-year-old self always relives the pain of losing him on that day. She repeatedly restarts the memory, believing fate has given her a chance at redemption, and stubbornly tries to pull Chen Chaonan back from death.

Only at the end does she tear away the cruel truth: Chen Chaonan died back then to protect her. The "time rewind" she has repeatedly lost herself in is nothing more than a game developed by her friend Zhou Xize, letting her live out an unending dream in the memory she most longs to return to.
