Three Spoonfuls of Sugar, What’s Wrong with This World?

The fundamental laws of physics in this world seem to have been rewritten by a creator who loves surfing the internet and is in a questionable state of mind. Logic is a luxury, causality is decorative, internet memes are hard currency, and absurdity is the rule of the day.

The protagonist has no traditional System interface, stat points, or quest prompts. His “cheat” comes from an innate ability to adapt to this world's chaotic rules, and a way of thinking that can solve any outrageous event with something even more outrageous.

His intense emotions, especially his urge to complain, unwittingly trigger the world's underlying code, bringing internet catchphrases, reaction images, and classic movie scenes to life around him. For example, when he's angry, a herd of “grass-mud horses” might really rain down from the sky to trample his enemies. When he's speechless, six dots, “...”, might actually appear above his head.

Every so often, comments from the “real world” drift across the sky in translucent text. Most say things like “Things are about to get intense,” “The author's lost it,” or “I'll eat my hat if this book ever gets published.” Only the protagonist can vaguely sense them, and they leave him deeply confused.
