Family background
Puyi was born on February 7, 1906. He was the grandson of Prince Chunxian Yixuan and the eldest son of Zaifeng. His family is the Qing royal family, with noble blood and huge political influence. His growth environment was closely connected with palace life, and he received traditional royal education and etiquette training from an early age.
Ascend the throne as emperor
In 1908, Emperor Guangxu fell seriously ill, and Empress Dowager Cixi ordered Puyi to be raised in the palace. After the death of Emperor Guangxu, Puyi was established as emperor, with Queen Mother Longyu and Zaifeng as regents. The following year, Puyi changed the reign name to "Xuantong". Puyi was only 3 years old at this time and was still a child who was not familiar with the world. However, he was promoted to the throne of emperor and became the nominal supreme ruler of the Qing Dynasty. However, the Qing Dynasty at that time was already in a state of turmoil, with political corruption, social unrest, and constant aggression by foreign powers. The foundation of the Qing Dynasty's rule was crumbling.
