Across the land of Jiuzhou, spiritual veins nourished all life like blood vessels. But a thousand years ago, rival powers fought over the "Ancient Spirit Pact," severing the veins and draining the land of spiritual energy. A century ago, the "Swordbone Clan" was framed as the culprit behind the desolation. The entire clan was slaughtered, and only its young lord, Ling Yun, survived, bearing the "Swordbone Curse," which consumed its Host's vitality as his cultivation grew. He went into hiding in a remote border town.
After an accident, Ling Yun awakened his golden finger, the "Eye of the Spirit Pact." It let him see the paths of the severed spiritual veins and communicate with the surviving "spirits of the spiritual veins." To clear his family's name and restore Jiuzhou's spiritual veins, he set out on a journey. Along the way, he joined forces with Su Qingyuan, a genius in spiritual plant arts who had been rejected by her sect, and Mo Chen, a puppeteer who guarded ancient ruins. Together, they searched for the scattered "Spirit Pact Fragments" across Jiuzhou.
But the mastermind, the Xuanxu Sect, had already laid a trap. They sought to seize the fragments and use the spiritual energy of all Jiuzhou to refine an "Immortality Pill" that would let the sect's elders live forever. Ling Yun had to fight off the Xuanxu Sect's pursuit, suppress the ever-worsening Swordbone Curse within him, and face the cruel prophecy that restoring the spiritual veins required sacrificing the Swordbone Clan's bloodline. In the end, he used the Eye of the Spirit Pact to fuse all the fragments and reshape the laws of the spiritual veins with his own sword heart. He broke the curse and the prophecy, restored life to Jiuzhou, and cleared the Swordbone Clan's name.
