The good news: Su Anle is about to get married to her childhood sweetheart, Lin Jiaxu.
The bad news: On the day they’re supposed to register their marriage, Lin Jiaxu changes his mind and marries Qu Qingyi, who’s standing behind them in line, right in front of Su Anle.
The worse news: Qu Qingyi’s new husband is a bald man in a shirt and a thick gold chain named Shen Lin. He’s tall and burly, with a scar across his brow. The way he glares at her, looking fierce and threatening, gives him the air of a bandit.
Shen Lin corners Su Anle against a wall and booms, “Your man stole my woman. So tell me, what are we gonna do about it?”
His voice makes Su Anle’s head ring. Dazed, she blurts out, “How about we settle for each other and get married too?”
Shen Lin stares at her. After a few seconds of silence, he says, “Fine.”
With their marriage certificates in hand, Su Anle has second thoughts. “Were we too impulsive and careless? How about we get divorced?”
Shen Lin nods. “We were a little hasty.”
The two of them turn and head back to the divorce counter.
The clerk tells them they have to wait until the mandatory cooling-off period is over before they can divorce.
But before the waiting period is up, somehow the two of them end up together.
Shen Lin: “This feels pretty good, doesn’t it?”
Su Anle: “Not bad.”
Shen Lin: “How about we hold off on the divorce and give this another try?”
Su Anle: “Sure.”
