Liu Zhi is a modern-day scumbag whose life hits rock bottom after he abandons his wife and child. Destitute and down on his luck, he meets a miserable end in an accident that leaves him utterly humiliated. Yet fate gives him an unbelievably ironic chance: he is reborn in the 1980s, not long after the moment when he made his fatal mistake.
With memories of his past life and a hard-earned lesson in the "conservation of fortune," Liu Zhi resolves to turn over a new leaf. He must find Song Qingqing, the young woman who has just given birth to his child, and make up for what he did to her in his previous life. Thus begins the comeback of a man who was as wretched as could be in his past life, and who in this one is shameless to the extreme. Using his knowledge of the future, he starts with a broken bowl and thrives amid the tide of reform. Through comical everyday moments and fierce business rivalries, he gradually realizes that Song Qingqing, whom he has always protected, is nothing like the woman she was when he ran away. As the two play a game of cat and mouse, our story slowly unfolds...
