The Grand Theater of China

I, Chen Guan, have become the only actor in five thousand years of Chinese history. I take the stage at Changping, where Bai Qi has been corrupted; I enter the Qin palace, where the First Emperor is under attack. By taking on the roles of historical figures, I gain power and perform in every era: helping Huo Qubing win glory in the distant north, getting drunk in Chang’an with Li Bai, and rewriting a doomed fate at Mawei Slope. From the pre-Qin era to modern times, every appearance is a race against destiny. Either I’m swallowed by the tide, or I become the tide itself.

Readers use the [Mirror of a Thousand Autumns] to decide every choice I make. This is more than my story. It’s a Chinese epic we’re writing together.
