I Scavenge for Trash After the Chosen One Ascends

The prophesied chosen hero, Xiao Fan, defeats the world-ending Demon Venerable, tears through the void, and ascends to the Immortal Realm. He leaves behind a legend of heroism and a land reduced to ruins. Lin Kezhou, an ordinary man who lost everything in the final battle, scrapes by among the rubble as a scavenger. One day, he accidentally finds the Demon Venerable's core, discarded by the hero Xiao Fan as the "root of evil." He discovers that this "demonic energy," scorned by the world, is the only force capable of repairing the shattered world and fighting the new monsters mutated by the overabundance of "holy light." To survive and protect the last scraps of warmth in his life, Lin Kezhou is forced onto a scavenging path that leads away from the "light." When everyone sees him as the new demon lord, he can only walk against the tide through the darkness, becoming the wasteland's sole protector.
