Synopsis

The day Zhang Zaizai took over the funeral clothing shop his grandfather left behind, he discovered it wasn’t an ordinary funeral business at all. The ledger was an order system for the underworld, the paperweight was a soul-pinning nail that kept vicious ghosts at bay, and even the “New Order” alerts from the delivery app came from “Mr. Li in Bed 3 of the morgue.”

“Ding! Order accepted. Task: Deliver a peachwood comb to the Midnight Hair-Combing Ghost. Rule: Do not meet her eyes while combing her hair.” “Warning! You have violated the rule. The vicious ghost ‘Reflection in the Mirror’ is approaching!”

Ever since he put on the vest with the bronze buttons his grandfather left behind, Zhang Zaizai has become a “special courier” navigating the shadows of the city, delivering the lingering obsessions of the dead and collecting the karmic debts of the living. From the “Knocking Ghost” incident in an old residential complex to the “Camera-Killing Curse” at a popular tourist attraction, every supernatural case hides a rule that means certain death, and he must find a way to break it before dawn.

As the orders rise in rank, Zhang Zaizai discovers that his grandfather’s “accidental death” was no accident, and that his Yin-Yang Eyes are closely tied to the catastrophe known as the “Hundred Ghosts’ Night Parade” ten years ago. The official ghost-control organization, the Spirit-Suppressing Bureau, wants to recruit him, while the mysterious “Ghost Post Office” keeps sending deadly orders to hunt him down.

One moment he’s on an absurd mission to deliver “life-prolonging rice” to a starving ghost; the next, he’s locked in a deadly struggle to uncover the truth about his origins and the world. Zhang Zaizai grips the peachwood comb and sneers, “Want to take my life? Ask the ‘ghost employees’ in my shop if they’ll let you!”
