Cookie's Development Diary

This is the story of Tang Yuan and Lin Mian, a very short story. At twenty-six, Tang Yuan walked down the street, pursed his lips, and still couldn’t figure her out.

“All right, Tang Yuan. From now on, you’re not allowed to talk,” sixteen-year-old Lin Mian said.

“Okay, but I have a question. When will I be allowed to talk?” seventeen-year-old Tang Yuan replied.

“When I say so!” Hearing that, Tang Yuan said nothing more and only smiled faintly. Tang Yuan was so easy to bully, no matter how old he was!

“All right, Tang Yuan. You’re not allowed to talk anymore, okay?”

“Okay.” Just like before, Tang Yuan only smiled faintly. But this time he also scratched his head. Tang Yuan was unhappy.

“Lin Mian, you’re twenty-five this year. Stop being such a good girl, okay?”

“Of course!” What kind of request was that? Lin Mian agreed without a second thought.

“I mean, don’t go on the blind dates your family sets up. I mean, if you’re going to get married, ask me first. I mean, if you’re going to get married, let me have the final say, okay?” Lin Mian short-circuited. What kind of request was this? Tang Yuan hardly ever talked, so was this his way of making every word count? “Okay?” Tang Yuan asked again after a long wait for an answer. See? He still hadn’t kicked his bad habit of biting his lip when he got nervous.

“No. You want it both ways. Are we signing the Treaty of Nanjing?” Twenty-five-year-old Lin Mian glared at twenty-six-year-old Tang Yuan.

“Okay?”

Tang Yuan asked again, sounding a little pitiful this time. “We’ll see how you do,” Lin Mian said, softening only for Tang Yuan because she trusted him.

No age gap!
