It's very interesting. I personally think the second volume is better than the first volume, although the second volume is not finished yet. (The following contains spoilers, please do not read if you mind)
The first volume is a story about the rebirth of the male protagonist and high-dimensional creatures. The career line is to fight against the interstellar high-tech invasion civilization and save the earth. It relies heavily on the combat power of high-dimensional creatures. Therefore, in my personal opinion, the career line is relatively "empty" and the overall story is relatively pure and sweet, suitable for lovers of sweet novels.
The second volume is an extension of a plan from the first volume (the Dandelion Project). The male protagonist, who is responsible for the fire of human civilization, was captured by the Zerg, his memory was distorted, and he was forced to become a silly and sweet love brain. After recovering his memory under an impact, he had to continue to disguise himself in order to survive, and planned to master the power of the entire Zerg for his own use.
I have to say that the second volume did surprise me a bit. The silly and sweet plot at the beginning almost made me abandon the novel, but fortunately, this kind of plot is not very long, and the male protagonist soon remembered it.

I read the second volume first (definitely not attracted by NP). The second volume is different from the Zerg novels I have read before.
