"The Cry in the Deep of Shawowo" is a shocking realist tragedy. The story takes place in the isolated and backward Shawowo. The 19-year-old kind-hearted girl Sha Mei is forced to marry her ugly nephew Pang Yunlong in order to repay her mother Pang Xiuyun for her kindness in raising her.
Faced with this emotionless marriage, Sha Mei fought hard from the day she went to church.
