The Wang Family of the Northeast: A Chronicle

The story follows the growing conflict between Zhang Zuolin, the King of the Northeast, and his children. His daughter Zhang Shoufang is especially affected: after her father abandons her, she and her mother and younger brother are left to rely on one another. She hates her father and longs to kill him. She cares deeply for her younger brother, Zhang Xueliang, who still remembers her fondly many years later.
