Investiture of the Gods: I Have a Merit Diary

The Calamity of Conferred Gods was about to begin. Myriad immortals were paying homage to the Jie Sect, and Sect Master Tongtian was brimming with confidence, ready to establish the Myriad Immortals Formation and challenge the Sages of the Heavenly Dao! Suddenly, a [Merit Diary] fell from the sky. [Holy crap, Tongtian’s got a head like a rock. He’s about to get jumped by four Sages, and the entire Jie Sect is going to be used as cannon fodder to fill the list, but he’s still daydreaming over there?] [Poor Three Xiao goddesses. Yuanshi, that old schemer, is about to wipe them all out!] [And Di Xin is about to go to Nuwa Palace and write an insulting poem. The six-hundred-year-old Shang Dynasty is starting its countdown to collapse!] Staring at the shocking spoilers in the diary, Sect Master Tongtian was stunned on the spot. The Qingping Sword in his hand shattered piece by piece! “My Jie Sect’s myriad immortals are nothing but pawns of the Heavenly Dao?!” “Yuanshi! Laozi! How dare you deceive me!” “Who in the world is writing this diary?!” Meanwhile, Chen Fan, who had transmigrated to Chaoge City in the Shang Dynasty, was happily closing his diary. “I helped Granny Fu cross the street and gained one merit point. Not bad, not bad.” “I gave two steamed buns to a beggar in the east of town today, and my merit went up again. I’ll soon be able to form a Golden Body of Merit!” I, Chen Fan, am a failed web-novel author. I just want to do good deeds by writing a diary and quietly keep a low profile until I become a Sage. But I never imagined that the diary I wrote would be passed around like crazy every day throughout the Investiture of the Gods world! Sect Master Tongtian: “From today onward, the Jie Sect will close its gates! None of my disciples may leave the mountain. Anyone who disobeys will be expelled from the sect!” King Zhou of Shang, Di Xin: “Now that I know heaven’s secrets, how could I write a poem that insults the gods? Guards, issue an order abolishing human sacrifice and vigorously developing farming and commerce!” Empress Nuwa: “So even I am a pawn in this great calamity? This diary… is rather interesting.”
