The Great Qin Empire

The Great Liang dynasty is on the brink of collapse, with natural disasters looming and human calamities already underway.

The grand ministers squabble over power in the imperial court, the Five Great Surnames and Seven Noble Clans treat human lives like weeds, and military governors rely on their armies to carve out fiefdoms. They all say this is the worst of times.

My name is Lin Ye, a bandit who crawled out of a pile of corpses on the northern frontier, a common soldier who can't even see tomorrow.

They talk about loyalty and honor; I trust only the blade in my hand. They care about family pedigree; I care only who's friend and who's foe. They revere imperial authority; all I see is a realm tottering on the brink.

When the Yellow River bursts its banks and a million refugees are left on the edge of ruin; when northern horsemen sweep south and beacons blaze across the Central Plains,

while the great clans and imperial power tremble in the storm, I will trample their corpses and forge an immortal throne from this world-shaking chaos!
