Death in Tianjin

In the early Republic of China, after learning a little of his family’s martial arts, he traveled from the Northeast to the lands south of the Great Wall, hoping to make a living by opening a martial arts school in Tianjin. His dreams were lofty, but reality was cruel. Before he could even open the school, the owner of the neighboring martial arts school showed up, ostensibly to spar, but really to challenge him and drive him out. Ping An won the fight and thought that was the end of it. But that night, several masked men in black hacked him to death with their blades. Jing Ke, the assassin from the Qin Dynasty, transmigrated into his body, and he became Ping An. By chance, he also unlocked an Apprenticeship System: every disciple he takes on earns him a martial arts technique from five thousand years of Chinese history. Thus, Ping An, who had transmigrated into this world, began his heroic tale of opening a martial arts school in Tianjin, fighting foreigners, and taking down warlords.
