The Journey to the West Project Team: I Really Didn't Mean to Get in Your Way!

After transmigrating into Journey to the West and being appointed head of the "Westbound Tribulation KPI Assessment Department," Chu Xiu just wants to slack off. But the System forces him to crank the difficulty of the journey to the max, or be erased!

With no other choice, he turns Twin Fork Ridge into a "Demon Clan Academic Symposium." Tang Sanzang passionately preaches "equality for all living beings," drawing countless demons to listen to the sutras and racking up a mountain of merit. Guanyin is so furious she shuts herself away, while Buddha Tathagata can only say, "I don't get it!"

But just after his moment in the spotlight, the System throws him a "Hell-level" mission: within the time limit, have a "temporary worker" from his department free Five Elements Mountain and release Sun Wukong ahead of schedule!

Chu Xiu's eyes widen in shock. Release Sun Wukong? He's the very heart of the Buddhist faith's destiny. Set things in motion early, and wouldn't that rip away the fig leaf covering Tathagata's scheme?

But with the System threatening to erase him, Chu Xiu has no choice but to grit his teeth and launch the "Heavenly Dao Script." Under the grand cause of the "Rise of the Demon Clan," he spins the demon kings and Heavenly Court bigwigs around his little finger, even getting the Dragon King of the East Sea to compete for a stake in his "new order"!

From an obscure Heavenly Court clerk to the mastermind stirring up turmoil across the Three Realms, Chu Xiu is dragged ever higher by the gods' wild misinterpretations of his intentions!

With Buddhism pressing him at every turn and the Heavenly Court plotting in secret, he can only stir up one outrageous scheme after another to survive in the cracks, and perhaps even take control of the entire journey to the West!

As the eyes of the Three Realms converge on Five Elements Mountain, a streak of golden light cuts through the sky beneath Buddha's Five-Finger Mountain.

"Wukong, I'll be getting your journey to the West started from the start!"
