Zhao Wulin, a top special soldier, was reborn in the parallel troubled times of the 1930s, where he saw victims begging and starving to death everywhere. Returning home, he encountered a broken family: his father was killed by the traitor Wang Mazi, his mother and sister were dying of cold and starvation, and his girlfriend was sold to the 70-year-old landlord Mr. Zhao.
