In the Famine Years of the 1960s, I Turn My Whole Family's Fate Around with a Spiritual Spring Space

[Pocket dimension, supplies, transmigration, period setting, lighthearted comedy]

When Lin Fulai wakes up, he finds that he, a man from the twenty-first century, has become the frail eldest son of the Lin family in Hongxing Village in 1960. He opens his eyes to a home stripped bare. His parents are going gray from worrying about making ends meet, and his five younger sisters are so hungry they're gaunt. Their meals are either watery porridge that lets you see your reflection or throat-scratching wild greens dubbed “coal briquettes.” It's a famine year, and even staying alive feels like a pipe dream.

Just as he's at a loss, a mysterious Spirit Spring dimension suddenly opens up. Its sweet spring water strengthens the body, its black soil nourishes all things, and it can even retrieve items from afar and speed up crop growth!

From then on, Lin Fulai quietly uses his newfound advantage while keeping a low profile. He saves his youngest sister from a life-threatening fever with the spring water, cleverly hunts wild game in the mountains to improve their meals, and even “catches” a whole basket of fat fish by the Qingshui River, astonishing the entire village! He skillfully builds connections with the steel mill and supply cooperative through his fish, trading for scarce ration coupons. He also proceeds cautiously, making careful deals on the black market to give his family a stronger footing.

From the first roast chicken and rabbit that fill the whole courtyard with their savory aroma, to the braised pork and white-flour steamed buns that make his sisters' mouths water; from new cloth shoes and White Rabbit candies that everyone envies, to the fine grain he quietly stockpiles... Using his wits and his pocket dimension, Lin Fulai carves out food and dignity for his loved ones in the cramped circumstances of a turbulent era. Watch this young man who has transmigrated use the Spirit Spring in one hand and his cunning in the other to protect his family and bring warmth to those around him, forging a path to prosperity all his own through years of hunger.
