The Secret History of Qianlong's Harem

In the Forbidden City during the Qianlong Dynasty, the competition between concubines within the palace walls was intertwined with the competition for power in the court. A poisoning case of a concubine revealed a series of conspiracies: the veteran minister Agui was forced to implicate the salt transport envoy from the south of the Yangtze River, which actually led to the rebellion plan of Prince Chahar's old ministry; a businessman from the Western Regions died mysteriously, and the jade pendant of Prince Heshuo hidden behind hid a greater mystery. There is no real protagonist in the harem. Xin's ambition, Rong's forbearance, and Wan's calculations are all pawns of various forces; in the court, the New Deal faction and the conservative faction are fighting openly and secretly, the Junggar tribe is watching with eager eyes, and rumors of orphans from the previous dynasty are stirring up the situation. When secret passages, poisonous hairpins, and forged secret messages appear one after another, everyone is struggling between lies and truth, and the "hand behind the scenes" who is hidden at the top of power and controls all conspiracies has not yet appeared. Is his ultimate goal to overthrow the Qing Dynasty, or does he have other plans?
