Everyone in the Underworld Calls Me Ninth Master of Tomb Raiding

People call me “Ninth Master” because I dare to enter tombs others won't touch and can crack mechanisms no one else can. But only I know I'm no “master” at all. I'm just a poor soul who's been terrified of poverty to the bone. When I was little, my mother died of illness in a ruined temple. My father and I survived by scavenging for scraps. I swore that one day I'd make something of myself, so no one would ever look down on me again. I had just one dream in life: save enough money to leave this sunless trade, buy a house with a courtyard in the city, and never have to listen to the wind in ancient tombs again. So I followed Old Ghost and learned the art of tomb raiding, taking my Luoyang shovel into the Qinling Mountains and down into Mount Mang. I handled jade discs from the Han dynasty and came across pottery figurines from the Tang. I was just about to save enough to settle down in the city when I came to grief while digging around the outer tomb of the First Emperor's secret mausoleum.
