The Netherworld Eatery

The Netherworld Inn has no fixed route. It drifts with the currents, traveling between the worlds of the living and the dead, and along the border between humans and demons. Every guest who comes aboard carries a past etched into their heart. Using the “heart sounds” Mo Xin hears through A-Shan, along with each guest’s story, she creates a dish tailored just for them. Tasting the dish becomes a ritual in which the guest relives their past, confronts it, and ultimately lets go of their obsessions.

At the heart of the story is Mo Xin’s gradual search for the truth behind her transformation from “ink” into “spirit,” after helping countless guests, and the forgotten pact between her and the ancient God of Culinary Arts, who vanished from the world long ago.
