"The moment the brother I trusted most shoved me toward the zombie horde, I thought it was all over."
When Lin Che opened his eyes again, he was back three months before the apocalypse broke out. His phone calendar marked the date in bright red: just 92 days until the virus spread worldwide!
With his rebirth came the Gene Forging System, which could devour zombie genes:
Slay Rotborn zombies to obtain toxin fragments and evolve a "toxin-filtering airway";
Tear apart Bonearmored elites to obtain defense fragments and forge his fire axe into an "armor-piercing battle axe";
Clear out a Swiftshadow hive to collect agility fragments and activate a "perimeter alert field" around his safe house!
In this life, he would no longer be a lamb waiting to be slaughtered:
He would empty his bank accounts and stock up in advance, reinforce the top-floor safe house, and recruit the veteran soldiers who had died in his previous life, as well as a mysterious biology prodigy;
He would see through the traitors' false faces and set traps to make them pay in blood;
He would also discover that zombies were divided into four major clans, and that an organization called the "Ouroboros" was coveting their mutated genes!
As the zombie horde surrounded the city, Lin Che gripped the Gene Forging Blade, its edge glinting coldly, and sneered at the evolution prompt on his display:
"The zombies will pay me back for what they took in my previous life, and so will the people! This time, I'm the one making the rules!"
(P.S. Body evolution + equipment enhancement + base building: a three-in-one thrill ride! The clan zombies have weaknesses, so mindlessly hacking away won't cut it. Strategic kills are way more satisfying!)
