Great Ming: I Trick Zhu Gaoxu into Rebellion, and Zhu Di Loses It

Yang Yan transmigrates to the Ming Dynasty during the reign of Zhu Di, where he meets the Prince of Han, Zhu Gaoxu. From the start, he talks Zhu Gaoxu into staging a rebellion.

He even tells him the Crown Prince is about to die and paper money is worthless.

Zhu Gaoxu trembles in terror.

As it turns out, Zhu Di and Yao Guangxiao, right next door, hear every word.

Zhu Di: “Don't stop me! I'm going to chop that lying fool to pieces today!”

Yao Guangxiao: “Your Majesty, please calm down. Hear Yang Yan out. Perhaps he can solve the problem.”

Zhu Gaoxu: “Yang Yan, hurry and teach me! I'll give you gold beans!”

Yang Yan explains one solution after another.

Zhu Gaoxu then asks what Yang Yan thinks of his father.

Yang Yan answers without hesitation: “His Majesty is an emperor for the ages!”

Next door, Zhu Di is positively delighted.

Yang Yan praises Zhu Di in every way, from his voyages to the Western Seas to his compilation of the Yongle Encyclopedia.

Zhu Di is even more pleased!

Zhu Di: “He understands me! This young man understands me!”

It isn't until one day, when Zhu Gaoxu brings Zhu Di to see him, that Yang Yan realizes Zhu Di heard everything he said.

Yang Yan: “Your Majesty, perhaps you could…”

Zhu Di: “Enough talk. Get into government service at once. I need talented people like you!”

Yang Yan: “Thank goodness. I thought you were going to say the Eastern Depot needed someone like me…”
