In his previous life, Chu Jue was a criminal psychology expert on Earth. He died in the line of duty during a mission to capture a serial killer, and his soul transmigrated to a parallel world where calamities had awakened. Born into poverty, he lost his parents young and was raised by his elderly grandmother. To help support the family, he took a part-time job at a funeral home. After transmigrating, he unexpectedly awakened the Mythic Calamity Sequence [Zhong Kui]. Knowing how terrifying this sequence was and how likely the Anomaly Control Bureau was to hunt him down, he chose to disguise himself as the seemingly harmless support sequence [Hua Tuo]. His goals are to survive, grow stronger, protect his only family, his grandmother, and secretly investigate the truth behind his transmigration and the origins of the calamities. His professional expertise from his past life gives him an edge in psychological profiling and strategic planning, allowing him to match wits with Luo Yechuan.
