Martial Arts Ascendant: Starting Out as Heaven’s Avenger

At the end of the Song dynasty, the empire was in turmoil. Imperial authority crumbled, and the realm fractured. In the north, barbarian cavalry pounded at the passes; in the east, Japanese raiders plundered the coast; in the west, foreign tribes invaded the borderlands. The court's harsh rule was as cruel as a tiger, and the people were reduced to eating their own children. Wang Zhen, chief of Qingfeng Stronghold, was a man of deep loyalty and feeling, but bandits from Sanxian Mountain joined forces with government troops to surround and kill him. His son, Wang Batian, had studied martial arts from childhood under the grandmaster Li Changchun. Wang Batian was as brave as ten Western Prefecture Zhao Kings stacked together, and strong enough to take on ten thousand men. When news of his father's death reached him, Wang Batian left his master and descended the mountain to take charge of the ruined stronghold. He raised the banner of “Heaven's Justice” and swore to avenge his father's blood. But the chaotic age was a crucible, with undercurrents stirring among every faction: feudal lords carved out territories and proclaimed themselves rulers, uprising leaders emerged one after another, and court conspiracies spread like a web. Wang Batian used force to break through obstacles and cunning to navigate the turmoil. He gathered heroes, quelled banditry, and resisted foreign enemies, yet gradually glimpsed a hidden hand behind the chaos, one that could sway the fate of the realm... In this world, people were all fierce and brave, with twice the strength of ordinary folk, and battles fought with flesh and blood were all the more brutal. With his fists, Wang Batian would steady the land; with a heart of fire, he would uphold justice. In a world where Heaven itself had fallen, he would carve out a path to overthrow it.
