Phoenix Cry in the Ninth Heaven: The Consort Ling Reborn to Slaughter Her Way Through the Palace

Deep within the Forbidden City, the humiliation of kneeling in a snowstorm to beg for an imperial physician, and the searing pain of losing her son, finally opened the eyes of Wei Yanwan, once the dazzling Consort Ling. In this man-eating imperial harem, kindness was a sin, and yielding only invited harsher cruelty.

Joining forces with her loyal eunuch, Jinzong, Wei Yanwan set a carefully plotted revenge in motion. She appeared obedient and humble, while quietly planning every step. She gave ground to gain an advantage and used gentleness to overcome force, secretly prying open the cracks in the trust between the emperor and empress beneath Empress Ruyi's seemingly unassailable position.

From suspicions surrounding a protective talisman to the poisoning of a prince, from rumors in the harem to turmoil at court, each seemingly coincidental “accident” was in fact part of an intricate, interlocking plan. Wei Yanwan and Jinzong joined hands and wielded political cunning to its fullest, staging a heart-pounding counterattack amid the harem's treacherous power struggles.

Yet Consort Yu, Hailan, watched from the shadows; Empress Ruyi grew increasingly suspicious; and the fickle, mistrustful Qianlong Emperor kept everyone guessing. The various factions contended within this gilded cage. As the truth gradually comes to light, how will this revenge end?

This is a struggle for power and survival, and a test of human nature and difficult choices. When the phoenix cries across the heavens, who will emerge as the final victor?
