How to Start from Nothing and Quickly Make a Million

How to Start from Nothing and Make Your First Million Fast When I had just 63 yuan in my pocket, I crouched outside my apartment complex, eating a steamed bun. Rent was due in five days. I had no job, no connections, and even my friends turned me down when I asked to borrow 500 yuan. With nowhere else to turn, I ran errands for Auntie Zhang, buying and delivering groceries for a two-yuan fee. I made five yuan per delivery for a supermarket. Later, I joined relatives back home making pickled vegetables and selling free-range eggs. I went from scraping together 43 yuan a day to slowly saving 100,000, then 300,000, and finally reaching a million in two years and eight months. I had never studied a business model or spent a single cent on advertising. I learned everything the hard way, through practical methods: spend three days in your neighborhood figuring out what people need; use a ten-yuan notebook to record customers' preferences; when a customer complains, apologize first and then make it right with an extra delivery; build a team with part-timers paid on commission instead of hiring full-time staff… Every chapter recounts something I went through firsthand: how to win back a customer after delivering the wrong order, how to negotiate with a partner when you're short on cash, and how to resist the temptation of a quick buck. There are no lofty principles, only ready-to-use forms, scripts, and procedures, such as the three things you must say when discussing a partnership, little tricks that raised my repeat-customer rate from 20% to 60%, and even the bookkeeping template I used. Ordinary people don't need to wait for a “golden opportunity” to start from nothing. Start by earning 100 yuan. If someone like me, with no connections or resources, could do it, so can you.
