Synopsis of The Sky-Splitting Blade
In the chaotic final years of the Tang dynasty, war spreads like wildfire. Northern tribesmen smash through Yanmen Pass beneath the hooves of their iron-clad steeds, while the martial world of the Central Plains sinks into a quagmire of conflict between righteous and demonic factions. The young Xiao Che, an orphan of the frontier garrison, sees his entire family executed after they are falsely accused. Bearing a blood feud, he flees to Wudang, only to be expelled because of his unusual constitution. After many twists and turns, he joins the mysterious Guardians of the Nation.
Through deadly battlefields and the martial world, he forges peerless martial skills. His left hand wields the Formation-Breaking Fist Manual, powerful enough to withstand a thousand troops; his right holds the Sky-Splitting Blade, capable of cleaving mountains and rivers. His extraordinary cunning also lets him unravel one earth-shaking conspiracy after another, from exposing the commander overseeing the army for colluding with the enemy in the Blood Banner Case to foiling the demonic cult's Netherworld Scheme to control the imperial family. Every move he makes sets the world in turmoil.
At court, he is the Iron Guardian of the Nation, feared by powerful ministers. He commands respect through martial prowess while remaining true to his principles. In the martial world, he is the Blade Lord, whom neither the righteous nor the demonic dare to slight, protecting the common people amid flashing blades and swords. When an army of three hundred thousand barbarians bears down on the border and treacherous ministers join forces with the demonic cult to hunt him down, Xiao Che storms the enemy camp alone and rallies loyal fighters with his courage. At last, before Yanmen Pass, he reenacts the legend of a lone rider breaking through ten thousand troops, carving a bloodstained path to peace through the blade in his hand and the justice in his heart.
