Miaowu, the cannon-fodder sidekick heroine, x Xie Wuwang, the demon-clan villain and leader
Before they fall in love:
Miaowu wakes up inside a dating sim as the pitiful girl picked up by the villainous boss.
The good news: she's the villain's only “sidekick and subordinate,” with a rock-solid job.
The bad news: her boss is a demon-clan spy who kills without batting an eye.
System: “Stay alive. Fail the mission and you'll be erased.”
Miaowu: “??? This isn't survival, it's doing repeated backflips in the King of Hell's palace!”
To stay alive, she works hard every day to play the loyal subordinate, while her inner monologue is already running wild:
“My boss's gaze seems even colder today. Has he figured out I'm not the original Miaowu?”
“No, no! I need to keep my distance. Less contact means staying alive!”
Xie Wuwang deliberately puts on a stern face, acting mature and imposing in front of his sidekick: “???”
His inner thoughts: “What's gotten into my sidekick today?”
After they fall in love:
So what if we're not the male and female leads?
Who cares? And so what if I'm not on the side of justice? This is great. Following the villainous boss and doing “bad things” is fun, heh.
So what if humans and demons are sworn enemies?
Look, the male and female leads are a couple. Now look again: a demon-clan villain everyone wants dead, and a tiny, insignificant cannon-fodder nobody. Aren't we perfect for each other? Aren't we? Aren't we? We are! (Very loudly.)
