During the Zhanghe era of the Great Jing, Shen Ye, a traveling physician on the frontier, is attacked while protecting refugees. A copper pendant left behind by his father leads him to the mysterious Shiguang Inn. A bowl of soul-forgetting wine awakens his bond from a past life with Su Wan, a woman in white. In their previous life, Su Wan promised they would meet again at “Shiguang” before her soul scattered while protecting the Soul Seal.
Innkeeper Chen Jiuzhen reveals that the pendant is a fragment of the Soul Seal, and that Shen Ye’s father was the former sect master of the Profound Soul Sect. Meanwhile, Zhou Yanzhi and Xuanjizi are plotting to seize the soul core, control the remnant souls, and destroy the world. With Su Wan, Mo Chen, and their other companions, Shen Ye gathers the five Soul Seal artifacts and uses soul-script magic to fight the villains. Their devotion across lifetimes shatters the conspiracy, safeguards peace on the frontier, and uncovers the secret of reincarnation through soul-script magic.
