To save all living beings, Bai Zhi and Murong Feng journey together to the far northern ice fields to find the Heavenly Jade Marrow, the one thing that can subdue demons. Through trials of life and death, they pledge themselves to one another for life.
The Jade Marrow recognizes Bai Zhi as its master. The two return with the sacred treasure and set up the Sacred Light Array of Purification in the capital. In the final battle, Bai Zhi awakens the Jade Marrow's divine power with her utterly pure and kind heart, while Murong Feng destroys the Demon Lord with the Emperor's Sword. After the catastrophe, a new emperor ascends the throne, and Bai Zhi becomes empress, ruling alongside him as they usher in an age of peace and prosperity.
