Yu Sheng discovers a note hidden inside her grandfather’s old zither. It reveals that her parents’ car accident was no accident, and that her second uncle, Yu Minghai, is a suspect.

After her grandfather dies and Shengyun is taken from her, she assumes a false identity and joins a company partnered with the Ji Group, hoping to take revenge with the help of its CEO, Ji Hexiao.

As she draws closer to him, the bond they formed over the old zither when they first met in an elevator, along with Ji Hexiao’s protection, causes her plan to use him to turn into genuine affection.

Ji Hongyuan, Ji Hexiao’s cousin, is exposed for colluding with Yu Minghai. Their crimes are revealed at a shareholders’ meeting, and both men are arrested.

But Yu Sheng flees out of her own misgivings. Ji Hexiao keeps Shengyun safe for her and waits.

Five years later, Yu Sheng returns to the country. With Ji Hexiao’s gentle advances and support, she lets go of her hatred, resolves her inner turmoil, and finds her way back to music. At last, the two clear up their misunderstandings, and the old zither becomes a vessel for love and legacy as they compose a warm new chapter together.
