In the desolate frontier of the Cangye wilderness, a boy named A Mu grows up relying on an old herdsman for company. His only link to the past is a mysterious dark green broken horn that has been with him since childhood. After the old herdsman passes away, A Mu is left to watch over a flock of skinny sheep and a dilapidated earthen hut, living a peaceful but difficult life.
The fall of a meteorite shatters the silence of Abandoned Hill. The blazing boulder crashes into the forbidden Misty Forest, drawing the attention of the vicious creatures within. At that moment, the broken horn suddenly stirs and merges with a streak of crimson light. It not only gives A Mu the ability to communicate with livestock, but also leaves a strange "Herdsman's Mark" on his palm.
To escape the forest creatures' pursuit, A Mu struggles to survive with his flock. He gradually discovers that the broken horn contains two intertwined forces: one gentle and full of life, the other scorching like destruction, both bearing an ancient and awe-inspiring aura. As he explores his abilities, he realizes they may be connected to the "Herdsman" of Cangye legend, who could communicate with all things and command every beast.
The meteorite's secret, the broken horn's origins, his own hazy past, and the danger lurking deep within the Misty Forest all drive A Mu to leave the familiar Abandoned Hill. Armed with his herding whip and broken horn, he will venture into the vast wilderness of Cangye, seeking his own destiny amid the struggles of great powers and the mysteries of ancient legacies, and composing a herdsman's song of growth, courage, and protection.
