A disaster originating from the ancient underground existence - "Hungry Evil" swept across the world, turning the world into a wasteland. Engineer Zhou Shen was attacked by mutants in a shelter and met Lin Wan and a boy who were parasitized by fragments of "Hungry Evil" in their bodies. In order to survive and seek the truth, they went deep into the "Echo Well" exploration site connected to the source of the "Hungry Evil".
Exploring underground is like falling into hell. They discovered the tragedy of the early exploration team's self-immolation by playing with fire, and awakened the will in the mirror to fight against the "hungry evil". After a thrilling battle of wills, the source of the "Hungry Evil" was temporarily severely damaged. Zhou Shen and others managed to escape and drifted down the underground river to the "Pan Rock" survivor camp.
The camp's resources were depleted, so Zhou Shen led the team westward and finally found the "Beichen Base" established by national forces. He brought back key materials and technical support, injecting vitality into the camp.
But Zhou Shen and Lin Wan still have unfinished promises and worries in their hearts - to return to the original abandoned factory and find their lost companion Lao Zhang. They set out on their way home with medicine and hope, and successfully rescued Lao Zhang and others who were on the verge of despair.
Three years later, under the leadership of Zhou Shen and Lin Wan, the abandoned factory was built into a new community called "Home Station". Lin Wan is pregnant with a child, and new life symbolizes rebirth on the ruins.
