Reborn: The South American Hegemon

In 1889, Xie Chang’an, whose soul came from the modern era, opened his eyes to find himself transformed into Pedro, heir to the crumbling Brazilian Empire. The military had its guns trained on the palace, while a republican tide surged through the streets. Facing a ship already sinking, Xie Chang’an knew history had given him only a dozen or so days.

But he had brought with him a century’s worth of knowledge and an iron will.

Smiling at the rebel general, he said, “You want to be president? Very well. But first, let’s win an era for Brazil.”

From quelling rebellion and putting domestic affairs in order to forging alliances and expanding by force, Uruguay, Argentina, Peru, and the other nations of South America bowed one by one before his modernized armies and diplomacy.

When the new empire was proclaimed in Rio de Janeiro, the whole world would hear his declaration:

“The old world order has rotted away. From this day on, the scepter of civilization belongs to the New World!”
