After transmigrating into Journey to the West, Sun Xing finds himself as the unhatched immortal stone on Flower-Fruit Mountain.
This world of Journey to the West has long since been altered, and the more you think about it, the more terrifying it gets:
Who left the bloodstains in Water Curtain Cave? Why did the Tathagata's eyes turn to chaos in his dream?
Patriarch Bodhi urges him to become his disciple, then denies it outright in reality.
Who is Patriarch Bodhi, really?
Sun Xing knows the script, but discovers that he is the only “wild card” in it.
He writes letters to the Bull Demon King, helps Nezha give his father a hard time, swears brotherhood with Erlang Shen, and beats up demons with powerful patrons.
And when Spirit Mountain takes notice of this “programming error” of a monkey,
Sun Xing grins and points the Golden Cudgel toward the Western Heaven:
“Don't rush. Old Sun is coming right up there to give your Western Heaven scam one hell of a show!”
You really have to read it with a little bit of thought. There are some eye-rolls and hints of dark humor that you really have to think about, but it's quite interesting to figure it out. It's really what it is. After Chapter 5, something different starts to happen, and the foreshadowing of the conspiracy theory is a bit interesting. I really need to use my brain a little bit, there are several lines running in parallel, I hope they can be rounded at the back. I'm currently curious, is the monkey gag in the back with the goblin???
