In a future city where memories can be extracted and traded, top memory appraiser Lin Mo is famous for his calmness and accuracy. He is like a ghost, traveling through the joys and sorrows of countless strangers, but he keeps secret of his past. During an ordinary appraisal work, an anonymous "memory crystal" allowed him to see a fragment of his childhood that should have belonged to him. This fragment of memory that should not exist is like a key, opening up his long-dusted past and involving him in a huge whirlpool of memory, identity and truth.
