Uchiha Twins: Hatred and a Cage in Their Blood

Uchiha Itachi is the source of the hatred etched into Sasuke's bones.

He was the brother Sasuke trusted most as a child, then became the executioner who slaughtered their entire clan in a single night. He was family, gentle as he stroked Sasuke's hair, and also the demon who used the Sharingan to make him watch the clan's massacre over and over, crushing every last trace of his innocence.

Sasuke hates Itachi's cruelty: he hates that Itachi slaughtered their clan without hesitation, leaving him the Uchiha's only lonely survivor, doomed to live with a blood feud; he hates Itachi's lies and control, using “hatred” as shackles to drive him to grow stronger in darkness and become the “perfect vessel” Itachi wanted; he hates Itachi's air of superiority, treating Sasuke's life and the Uchiha's fate as pieces he could move freely across a chessboard, as if even Sasuke's right to hate him were a gift from Itachi.

This hatred isn't a passing burst of anger. It's an obsession that runs through his very blood. Sasuke spends every day and night pursuing Itachi, with his entire reason for living being to plunge a blade into his brother's chest and tear away that cold, hypocritical mask. He has to win. He has to end, with his own hands, the prison Itachi built and named “hatred.”

Yet deep within that hatred lies a bond Itachi deliberately buried, one Sasuke himself refuses to acknowledge. The more he hates, the harder it is to sever their connection; the more he tries to cut himself free, the more tightly the fate binding their blood holds him captive.
