The Case Files of Bao Zheng of the Great Song

This novel is adapted from the cases in the 1993 version of Justice Bao, with one case per chapter. Since ancient times, throughout every dynasty, whether in times of peace or turmoil, the imperial court has always seen members of the royal family and nobility abuse their privilege and persecute loyal officials. Society, too, has never been free of corrupt officials who take bribes and shelter criminals, or of local bullies and gentry who collude with merchants to exploit and torment ordinary people. When an upright official speaks up for the people, redresses their grievances, and roots out evil, the people are sure to cheer with heartfelt satisfaction. This series takes the Southern Hero Zhan Zhao as its central figure, weaving a succession of tales of chivalry, love and hate, and tangled feuds, in which evil is punished and good is rewarded, to the delight of all.
