I Returned After Three Years, and His Highness Seems Different

[Yandere + sweet on the outside, dark within + fictional setting + puppet emperor + sweet romance + confinement]

Yong Jingsi is the second prince with the best chance of ascending the throne, yet he never fights for power. That is, until one day the emperor sends Yang Liuxi to the Xi Kingdom like a plaything.

After that day, Yong Jingsi changes completely. He climbs step by step to the highest seat, strips the emperor of his authority, and takes that power firmly into his own hands.

The cause of it all is Yang Liuxi, his childhood sweetheart.

Three years later, Yong Jingsi personally goes to bring Yang Liuxi home, only to find that his childhood sweetheart has grown distant and can talk of nothing but the enemy kingdom’s general. From then on, the beast in his heart is awakened.

When Yang Liuxi keeps turning her gaze toward other men, Yong Jingsi finally locks her in his own courtyard, revealing his true nature.

He holds Yang Liuxi tightly in his arms, squeezing as if he wants to fuse her into his bones so they can never be apart again. At the same time, he murmurs:

“Why won’t you just behave?”

(The male lead goes to bring the female lead home at the start. The author is devoted to the female lead, and there are no abusive scenes involving her. All couples in this story are heterosexual romances.)
