Sour Persimmon

After three years of a secret marriage, Shen Yao saw a newspaper photo of her top-tier star husband, Zhou Shiyu, at a hotel with a popular young actress on the day she discovered she was pregnant.

As his secret assistant, she swallowed down her morning sickness and handled his scandals, watching him shield another woman from the cameras.

A reporter joked that they made a perfect couple, while he coolly instructed her, “Help Miss Su with her luggage.”

She remembered what he had said on their wedding night: “I hate tangled relationships.”

Shen Yao finally understood. No matter how hard she tried, this relationship would never have a happy ending.

So she left behind divorce papers and her prenatal checkup report, then disappeared without a trace.

Three years later, Shen Yao returned with her child as a mysterious painter, accompanied by the heir to the Shi family, who treasured her above all else.

But Zhou Shiyu, eyes red, cornered her backstage at an art exhibition and rasped, “Yao Yao, don’t you have something to tell me?”

Shen Yao looked at Su Wan hurrying after him and held up the diamond ring on her left hand. “Mr. Zhou, please don’t casually hit on another man’s wife.”
