Zhang Junhao, a modern-day overworked office worker, suddenly collapses after pulling an all-nighter. When he opens his eyes again, he finds himself on the muddy edge of an ancient battlefield, dressed in tattered coarse-cloth armor and clutching a rusted spear. Memories flood his mind: he has become a cannon-fodder foot soldier named “Gousheng” in the border army of the Great Chu Dynasty.
He has barely transmigrated when enemy troops launch a surprise attack. Thanks to his modern reflexes and a bit of luck, Zhang Junhao survives the chaos, but his captain now considers him a “troublemaker” and assigns him the hardest, dirtiest work.
